Mission Statement
Our singles ministry seeks to glorify and enjoy God by welcoming all singles, by serving, worshiping and studying together, and by getting to know one another through fellowship and fun.
Ministry
Part of glorifying God and knowing Christ is serving Him. As a group, we are involved in two specific ministries on behalf of the church.
Cornerstone
On the second Friday night of every month, we minister at Cornerstone Manor Women's Shelter in Buffalo. Part of the group holds a chapel service for the residents there, featuring music, testimonies, and a devotional. The other part of the group presents a children's program, featuring a Bible story, games, crafts and singing. We also serve the women and children their evening snack. We always need more help with this ministry, and we invite you to join us!
Elderwood
In addition, every other month we hold a Sunday afternoon service for the residents of Elderwood Manor, on Grand Island. This, too, includes music and a devotional...followed by a rousing time of games and "gab" with the residents.
Fun
Once per month, we enjoy a special fun event together. Here are some of the favorites we have done:
* Skiing and Tubing
* White-water Rafting
* Shakespeare in the Park
* Hiking at Letchworth State Park
* Ladies Retreat
* Progressive Dinner
* Annual Christmas Party
If you would like to stay informed about all of our events, we invite you to join our email list! Please email BPSingles@gmail.com.
This Month's Featured Event
Friday July 25th from 6:00 PM till ???
This has always been one of the most popular
annual events we have attended for years now.
God has been so gracious to us in keeping the
weather clear during these evenings he has us
choose. So come and join us as we attend
the production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor"
in Delaware Park. We will be bringing a sub tray
of sandwiches and arrive early at 6:00 pm to eat
dinner together and fellowship before the play
begins. Please sign up to bring fruit, drinks,
munchies, dessert, and other sides for the dinner.
Also please bring $3.00 to pitch in for the sub tray
and additional sandwich meat / rolls that will be provided.
As long as we have an estimated head count ahead
of time there is no limit to how many can join us…
so why not come and enjoy this great production
outdoors ending under the stars?
Please RSVP to Julia at juliagail1@juno.com or
Katie at pckljbrown@netscape.com Before Wednesday
July 23rd so we may have an estimated head count.
Please let us know what you plan to bring along.
2nd FEATURED EVENT This Month–
A Country Picnic, Barbecue and Bonfire Bash
Saturday August 2nd, 5:00 PM till ??…
We have decided to add a second featured event this summer
as the Heim's will host a picnic, barbecue and bonfire event at their
home for us. This will be a chance to fellowship in the country
where you can actually see the stars better, run through and hide in
the grapevines, toss the football, play Bocce and Croquet, (OK, I
admit I am just a big kid). Join us around a bonfire, have a time of
devotion, and just plain enjoy great fun, food, and
fellowship together in the great outdoors.
Watch for more details to come next week.
Jim will bring Burgers, Hot Dogs and bottled waters.
Please sign up to bring a side dish, salad dessert, munchies, Juices,
more waters, etc.
